December 4, 2016

Last week the Marktplaats Goudmijn Collectie Event happened, and it was so much fun! 51 bloggers were rocking the runway with their vintage looks which are currently up for sale (till the 7th of December) right here.

My outfit got quite some compliments throughout the evening, which almost makes me regret putting it up for sale haha. But in case you are looking for a great holiday outfit you should definitely check it out! Continue Reading

Happy Black Friday! The Story & The Tricks

November 27, 2015

Happy BLACK Friday everyone! That doesn’t sound very enticing, but in fact it very much is. You might be familiar with the yearly black Friday, which is slowly but surely a becoming an established event in Europe. It is THE day in the year that all the shops give crazy discounts and all the shop addicts can live their dreams… sounds pretty good to me!

The Story

I was wondering though… how did this tradition come into existence? Let’s check out some of the facts: Ever since the start of the modern Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, the Friday after Thanksgiving has been known as the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season. The term ‘Black Friday’ was created in the 1960’s because “Black” refers to the shops moving from ‘red’ to ‘black’ numbers. You see, back when accounting records were kept by hand, red ink indicated a loss, and black ink a profit! Look at that, we learned something new today!

The Tricks

However, now it’s time to get to the juicy part: where should I go shopping?! If you don’t have time to go into the city center, it’s a great option to do your shopping online. Let’s check out some cool webshops with fantastic discounts to inaugurate the Holiday Season!

Sephora

We all know and love Sephora, but sometimes it’s just too damn expensive… not today though! Sephora has some amazing Black Friday Discounts running, so you can buy the perfect Christmas present for someone (or yourself). Personally I love their Holiday Giftsets which vary between €10,- and €100,- so there is something for everyone!

Hunkemöller

After putting on your beautiful make-up it’s time to get dressed! Hunkemöller has a beautiful lingerie collection with designs for everyone. Neutral, cute, comfy (you will love their Cosy Collection!), sporty, sexy, and most definitely a special Christmas collection! Today and tomorrow the Hunkemöller will give a 25% extra discount on everything in their shop!

hunkemoller-kerst-6Boohoo.com

At the moment Boohoo.com is one of the fastest growing webshops in the world! That must be for a reason you would say, and that’s definitely true! They have the kind of clothes which you always see the cool IT Girls wear and of which you wonder where the hell they got them. Even better: you can scroll trough their varied collection for hours and the prices are super affordable! Today the discounts are up to 50%!

black friday 3Fashion Pills

For some reason Fashion Pills decided to go for a Black Wednesday this year! Their 60% Off Discounts on Black clothes has been running for three days already! I love this online shop because they have unique clothes which they get from a mix between uprising and established brands. Very stylish, very inspiring, very #musthave!

Black friday 4Nelly.com

Scandinavian webshop Nelly.com made a HUGE impact with their Christmas Campaign: featuring worldwide famous fashionblogger Kenza Zouiten covering “Let it Snow” (Kenza claims not to be a singer, but she is killing it!). This webshop represents many big brands, as well as several Scandinavian brands which we have to get to know! The Scandinavian Style has been dominating the fashion and interior trends for a while already, this is the place to keep up with them!

Life & Travel The Styling Files

My next step: Hola Barcelona!

October 20, 2015

Today is a BIG day for me because… I AM MOVING TO BARCELONA! That’s right, by the time you are reading this, I am on my way to Spain with three suitcases and two backpacks (a girl needs to prepare herself okay?!) anxious to see my lovely boyfriend and MOVE IN TOGETHER. Why is it necessary to move to Barcelona you may wonder? In just a couple of days I will go BACK TO SCHOOL. Oh hell yes, I will start my second master at the INSA Business School to learn more about Art Direction and Creative Advertising because… it’s just freakin’ cool that’s why! So BOOM there you go, triple shock!

But don’t you worry guys, it will be a part-time master so I still have lots of time to share cool stuff with you on the blog and to continue with my modelling! And besides, I will still be able to travel around. Or better said… I will make time to travel around, I just can’t help myself.

Anyways, since I will be spending lots of time in Barcelona from now on, I decided to do some research on a very important issue: where will I be able to satisfy my fashion addiction?! I mean… three suitcases and two backpacks is not THAT much… right? I made a Top 5 of shops which I already visited and LOVE in combination with shops which I am dying to discover. Check them out!

La Roca Village

La Roca Village, s/n (Shuttlebus from Plaça Catalunya)

This huge outlet centrum suits its name, it’s like a small town right outside of Barcelona. It has many cool brands such as Armani, Aristocrazy, Calvin Klein, Furla, Guess, Karen Millen, Michael Kors, Swarovksi and more! As a kid in a candystore I ran from one store to another, controlling my urges to buy everything that I found. By the end of the day I scored some amazing new stuff for great discount prices… Shopping heaven, I tell you!

Serra Claret

Provença 278 (Metro Diagonal)

This list wouldn’t be complete without some vintage! Serra Claret is located in the beautiful area Eixample and is known for stocking exclusive brands such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, Neil Barrett, Dsquared and Forte Forte. The first Serra Claret store opened in 1933 and emphasizes customer service with a personal touch. I always have a hard time finding hot items in vintage stores so perhaps they could help me? I will definitely go and find out!

Passage BCN

Carrer de l’Abat Samsó 7 (Train Sarriá)

The concept store Passage is actually one of the few in Barcelona! It has beautiful gallery spaces, pop-up stores, a champagne bar, fashion books, events, gadgets, accessories and obviously… fashion! Passage definitely sets the standards high with selling creative top brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, which sparkle inspiration and imagination. Very promising indeed, I can’t wait to visit!

La Maquinista

Carrer de Potosí 2 (Metro Torras i Bages)

This is a lesser known shopping mall in Barcelona because it’s a bit out of the city center, but it’s totally worth a visit! It has all the stores you usually would have to cross the complete city for (twice!) in one magnificent huge mall. On top of that, the atmosphere is very relaxing with lots of plants, music and open spaces. Do you feel like shopping without stress? This is the place to go!

Dolores Promesas

Rambla Catalunya 111 (Metro Diagonal)

I haven’t been here yet but this store seems to have it all: vintage decoration to admire, three floors to discover and a coffee shop to recover! Also not unimportant: the collection of Dolores Promesas fits perfect with the stylish interior. It’s feminine, elegant, playful, strong and very much affordable! Rambla Catalunya is a street parallel to the famous Passeig de Gracia, very central and easy to reach, I will be passing by Dolores Promesas as fast as I can!
