080 BCN Fashion Week with Who is that Blonde

February 8, 2016

After Amsterdam and Paris, last week it was time for Barcelona Fashion Week! Better known as 080, this fashion week is all about offering a platform to upcoming designers and new talents such as Justicia Ruano and Krizia Robustella – two of my favorites shows this season! The first day started good when my outfit (and also Alex’ look!) immediately got noticed by Flash Moda from the Spanish national TV Channel as soon as I walked in! Down here you can see the part where I get interviewed, for the people that don’t speak Spanish: I’m explaining that I’m wearing desings from the local brands Valentina Garí and Maria Roch, and of course my beloved oldskool bag from Ruitertassen!

My favorite show to see that day  was Miquel Suay with an amazing menswear collection based around the concept of balanced infinity: elegant, graphic and comfortable! The second day was lots of fun: I met lots of amazing people and the shows were great! It started off with the catwalk presentation of Krizia Robustella, who brought back the hiphop 90’s on the song ‘no diggity‘. After that it was time for Punto Blanco to blow us away with underwear and pyjama’s based on the ‘Superman vs. Batman’ movie theme, sexy and fun at the same time: winner combination! My third favorite of this day was Sita Murt: an established brand which stands for timeless and classy femininity, what’s not to love?!

Today I was also spotted by the press, lucky me! I was asked for an interview for El Periodico (the national journal in Spain) to give my opinion on the 080 Fashion Week in comparisation to other fashion weeks like Paris and New York. They also loved to hear about my outfit, which was again completely from brands in Barcelona! I was wearing some very special trousers from Loretta Piovano in combination with my navy blue coat of Maria Roch and the most adorable clutch from Sarah’s Bag which I scored at Passage BCN! Check out the short article here:

Also I was very happy to meet one of my favorite models backstage one of the shows: Zhenya Katava! Isn’t she gorgeous?! 12695619_10153545820413250_1261466377_o

My last day at 080 I was wearing this beautiful velvet 70’s outfit from Ay Si! Barcelona in combination with my body from Boohoo.com and the most adorable bag from Les Petites Joueurs which I got from Passage BCN. I just LOVE everything about this outfit, don’t you?! Also, I was very lucky to spot the model Sam Steele – the shining star of the Punto Blanco show – in the photobooth in between shows and take a quick snapshot with him, oh my goodness!

It is hard to chose my favorite shows from this day because there were just so many good ones! Of course there was the most important show of 080: Custo Barcelona, which was happy as always with many colors, patterns and textures. However, I might prefer some of the smaller designers such as WOM & NOW, Lebor Gabala and Justicia Ruano. Why you might ask? Probably because I wanted to wear pretty much every one of their designs when I saw them walking down the runway, and the styling of the looks was simply amazing!! Even though 080 was missing two of their biggest catwalk presentations this season (Mango and Desigual both decided not to show this time), there was still more than enough talent to admire these days!

Unfortunately I couldn’t visit the last two days of 080 because I was busy shooting an editorial, which is going to be supercool by the way! Anyway, I can’t wait for next season, when I will be able to show off my summer outfits!

Lots of Love,

Lynn

#OOTD: School Chic with Ruitertassen

January 13, 2016

Bye Bye Holidays, Hello Exams! Since most of my friends are spending their days in the books at the moment, I figured it would be fun to do an #OOTD inspired by the University Look. How to walk to classes while looking effortlessly chic? I got the answer! And there is more: for this #OOTD I convinced Alex to join me for menswear inspiration and I think he did an amazing job. Let’s check it out!

Ruitertassen1For Her

When you are too busy studying, you most definitely not want to get too complicated with your outfit. Therefore, the first (and very obvious) ground rule for effortlessly chic is: keep it simple! As you can see I went for a basic Zara shirt in combination with a checkered A-line skirt: warm and comfy, but still cute.

Ruitertassen5The second thing which is important for a chic school outfit are the colors. Black and white is always a safe option, but for today’s outfit I felt inspired by warmer colors: brown and burgundy red. These colors are trending as we speak and I happen to love them, happy me! Is it just me or do they also give a little 70’s touch to my outfit? Anyways, the neutrals are always good for the chic look, so all you have to do is ask yourself: does the color scream? If the answer is yes, don’t wear it as one of your basics. As a fun touch for an accessory? Go for it!

Ruitertassen3And last but not least: you NEED a bag to drag all your books around, so you might as well go for a cool one! This oldskool leather bag from Ruitertassen really gives my outfit that final touch and is super practical as well. The best part is the fact that these oldskool bags are made with great quality and they will only start looking better with the years, unlike most other bags I ever took to class. Besides, I love the vintage style of the bag because… vintage! Do I need to say more?

Ruitertassen6For Him

How amazing is it that at the moment it’s trending again for men to suit up and look classy? I’m a fan! Alex is wearing a shirt under his jumper with his tie tucked in (yes, I was inspired by Nate from Gossip Girl) combined with his beige skinny fit jeans. This fit makes the look a bit more casual, otherwise it would go into the direction of ‘business man’ instead of ‘college student’ and that’s not the look we were going for!

Ruitertassen9For Alex I also decided to go for neutrals with a beige jeans and a grey/blue-ish sweater. However, the combination of different structures and layers makes the look more interesting, just as the small burgundy red detail on his socks! Finally, Alex’ outfit also got its final touch with the oldskool leather bag from Ruitertassen, who do you think wore it better? ;)Ruitertassen4
