February 14, 2018

Happy Valentine’s day guys! Guess what? I’m sharing a special story today! Me and Alex have been together for more than 6 years and we get this question all the time: how did we meet? Little spoiler alert: we met while I was still in high school, can you believe it?! It’s a fun story that I enjoy telling everytime, I hope you enjoy hearing it!  Continue Reading

A Tribute to my Love

Dear Alex,

It’s funny you know, people always compliment my writing, and if I’m being honest, I like my own writing too. I am good at it. Nevertheless, whenever I want to write you something, I can’t seem to find the right words. It’s like taking away the legs of a runner, the eyes of a painter, the hands of a thief. You take away my words, just by being you. Continue Reading

Column #3: Perfectly Imperfect Holidays

January 4, 2017

Who doesn’t recognize these typical Christmas scenes: stressing all day trying to make the perfect Christmas dinner, looking for the best presents, trying to untangle the lights for the Christmas tree, struggling to make plans with both sides of your family to make sure you see everyone during the holidays and gaining 5kg from all the food. I think we can all agree that Christmas isn’t as perfect as we like to make it look like on social media, can we? Nevertheless, Christmas is one of my favorite holidays – and not because of the presents under the Christmas tree. Maybe all these little holiday dramas are exactly what make it such a charming holiday. Let’s see how I spent mine!  Continue Reading

My Xmas Wishlist

December 5, 2016

It’s DECEMBER! The only month that I don’t mind that it’s freezing winter. IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS! For as long as I can remember Christmas has been my favorite holiday because it brings all the family together and we create beautiful memories which I cherish deeply. Last year my family has grown quite a lot and therefore we decided to play ‘Secret Santa’: everyone gets one person for whom he/she has to buy presents, instead of everyone buying presents for everyone. After all: it’s not about buying an infinite amount of presents, it’s about sharing sweet gestures. Continue Reading

#OOTD: Summer Vibes!

June 20, 2016

Buenos Días!

#OOTD Update: It has been SUCH amazing weather for the past few days here in Barcelona, I honestly don’t even know what to wear because everything feels too hot! Could I just walk in my bikini all day/every day? However, I did find a solution – you know, just in case I cannot actually walk around in my swimwear – … at the moment I am a huge fan of the culotte! They are amazingly breezy, super classy and easy to combine with any kind of tops! I scored mine at the website of ModeMusthaves for just €20,-! My off-shoulder top is from Mango, don’t you just love that Kobalt blue? :)

Since it’s way too hot to wear too much stuff I decided to keep my #OOTD simple with my currently favorite sunnies from Prada, my nude sandals from EGO (seriously an awesome webshop for low priced on-trend shoes!) and my suede nude bag from Martina K. #ootd4

This week I am graduating from my master in Art Direction and Creative Advertising so wish me luck! I have two projects to finish before it’s SUMMER VACATION! Goodluck to all of you who are also struggling with their final exams!!

Lots of Love,

Arty Farty Fashion Friday: The 2 Funniest Illustrators you need to Know

April 22, 2016

Since I am posting lots of articles about FUN this month, I decided to stay in the theme for my monthly Arty Farty Fashion Friday. I’ve been following these two illustrators for a while already because their drawings always make me smile. Let me introduce to you: Gemma Correll and Saray Martín.

Gemma Correll

This illustrator is one of the few that actually made a career from her love of pugs and drawing like a ‘five-year-old’. Gemma’s favorite color is turquoise, her zodiac sign is Aquarius and her favorite word is “Albuquerque”, in case you wondered. Above all, her sarcastic humor is starting to become legendary: not just because of her funny illustrations, but also for the way she answers interview questions. These are two of my favorites:

Why do your illustrations look like a five-year-old drew them?

I hire a five-year-old to do all my work for me. I pay him in fudge. His name is Alan.

Is being an illustrator a real job?

No, it’s a fake job. I actually run a very successful drug smuggling ring. I just pretend to draw things and distract people with my cute pug.

Don’t you just LOVE her already?! I selected some of my favorite illustrations, hope you like them!

Saray Martín (Dessinetas)

This sweet lady is a Catalan blogger (better known as Dans Vogue), ballet dancer and – obviously – illustrator. Just like Gemma Correll she loves to create a cartoon-ish, playful style with her drawings and uses many bright colors. She says her favorite material is watercolor because it creates more dimensions in her illustrations and she gets her inspirations from daily experiences. What I love about her drawings is the fact that her characters are totally adorable, I feel like I can relate to the situations she illustrates, and of course her sense of humor! This is definitely one artist to keep an eye on ladies!

Spring Fashion, New Nails and Life Lessons

March 6, 2016

Hello Everyone!!

I’ve been super happy all week already, do you want to know why? It’s MARCH! that means that it’s almost Spring! And let’s be honest, here in sunny Barcelona it’s definitely already feeling like it – Today I was even able to go outside with just a thin faux-leather jacket, can you believe it?!

Anyways, with the temperatures rising and the warm sunshine coming back, I was in the mood for a Spring outfit with warm colors. Bordeaux Red is still a super popular color for 2016, but I traded the knits for a pastel pink floral print. I love that the wide shirt is comfy casual but still feminine, and it fits perfectly with my beige 3/4 trousers! My full outfit is from the Spanish brand Cortefiel, a shop where you will find me regularly here in Barcelona, because they are awesome :)

Earlier that day I was really happy to be invited by the brand CND to get a manicure and a masterclass about nailcare. It was a blogger event to introduce their newest Spring/Summer colors for 2016, and it was so much fun! The ladies taking care of me were the sweetest and I had the hardest time picking a color since they were all so beautiful: in the end I went for a shimmery oldpink with a hot pink nailart detail on my ringfinger, what do you guys think?! This was the first time I tried Shellac so I am really excited to see if it actually works – you know, that nailpolish that stays on for 2 full weeks and is very hard to remove. They even gave me a special product with instructions so I will be able to take it off in 2 weeks, along with lots of other care products and 2 colors from their collection, I’m the happiest girl in the world :)

CND Nails1Another thing that I wanted to share with you guys: as you might have read in my previous blog, I am currently dealing with a little burnout so my March is all about experimenting with getting better. So here is an update for you guys now: I noticed that sometimes I started reacting quite cynic & pessimistic to friends and people I work with, which makes me dissapointed in myself because thats NOT who I am at all. BUT now comes the good news! Since music has a huge influence on me, I decided to make a Spotify playlist called ‘Happy Therapy‘: filled with upbeat, badass, fun and happy music, to which I listen everytime I go to meet someone in order to brighten up my mood. Guess what? It works like a charm!

Since I started listening music before my meetings I’ve had so much fun and laughed more than I might have done in the past few weeks combined. So there you go! Maybe you would like to hear I am doing better and maybe it will work for you too!

Remember everyone: the seasons are changing, everything is getting warmer and brighning up. Let’s do the same! Show kindness, make someone’s day, appreciate what you have and don’t be too hard for yourself. Ups and downs are a part of life, just make sure that you always keep looking up :)

Lots of Love and see you soon <3

Lynn

P.s. Thank you Luis Lau, for making these fun pictures with me! You’re the best
