A Day in Rotterdam

January 30, 2017

Rotterdam, such a lovely city. I am pretty sure they have the best parties of the Netherlands, and let´s not forget about their modern architecture. Even though I have been there quite often for work, I still felt like I didn´t see that much of the city yet, or knew many hotspots. So when Beautymarket invited me to come over I figured I should make it a day. Let´s go!

We spent our morning and midday getting pampered at the Beautymarket: nails, hair, tanning, beauty treatments… the whole shebang. I thought it was pretty cool that they had such a wide variety of services, I think I could literally spent days in there lol. Oh and fun fact: this was the first time EVER I went under a tanning bed. I always heard that it was so bad for your skin, but apparently their lights have filters so I was willing to give it a try. I can see why people like it now. it’s pretty awesome.

After our beauty treatments we got some make-up on so we didn’t have to walk out in – what we Dutchies like to call – “Blote billen gezichten” (naked butt faces??). Anyways, thank you! Next step: visiting the city.

We made a walk across the river to see the Erasmus bridge from up close, it was pretty nice because it was also time for sunset. Prettyyy:) After that we walked into the city center to see some shops (I bought a HUGE pink suitcase at TK Maxx because my old suitcase broke during my tour) and we sat down for biological fries with truffle mayonnaise (YASSS).

Since it was seriously cold, we decided to walk to the NHow to warm up with a nice drink before heading back home, or rather: to Amsterdam! I had a very fun beach date yesterday which I will tell you about soon!

Do you have any tips for me? I would love to get to know Rotterdam better!

Lots of Love,
