Let’s face it, all of us are obsessed with our skincare because everyone wants to have a good skin, myself included! For the past 3 years I have been very happy with the products of Image Skincare – which were recommended to me by my dermatologist – and 2 months ago they sent me 2 products to try out: Iluma exfoliater and eye cream. Obviously I was super happy with the products, and I decided to take my chances now that we got in touch: I was going to ask them EVERYTHING I wanted to know about skincare!
1. What is the best night time skincare routine?
In the night our body recovers, so does the skin. It is important to use products that nourish and repair the skin during that period. Every skin needs something different, this depends on the condition and the age of the skin.
2. What is the best way to minimize acne scarring?
Acne scars are the biggest fear for people who suffer from acne. It is always better to prevent than to cure, so if you see the first signs of acne, handle right away. Due to tailor-made skincare products for home use and skin treatments in the salon that make the skin thinner, reduce inflammation and slow down oil production, you no longer have to accept acne. Important advice: don’t touch or scratch the skin, this increases the chance of scarring and inflammation of the skin.
3. What is the best method for maintaining a balanced skin?
A balanced skin has maximum protection and is the most beautiful skin you can have! Hydration of the skin is one of the most important methods. As soon as there is a lack of moisture, the skin will create solutions in order to compensate, such as creating tallow. As a result of moisture deficit, we often see an itchy skin that is painful and eventually will become allergic to all kinds of skincare. Make sure you get proper advice for what is good for your skin. The IMAGE Skincare experts give personal advice and create tailor-made treatments.
4. What tips do you have for women dealing with adult eczema and acne?
For eczema, there are other tips than for acne. For middle-aged women who experience eczema, there may be other causes such as hormonal factors. The best tip for eczema is to keep the skin oily. By doing this, there will be no itch stimulus so you don’t scratch. Use shower products based on oil, don’t shower too much and try to nourish the skin with products containing ingredients that work on the Langerhans cells (skin’s immune system), such as the Vital C line of IMAGE Skincare. Hormones often play a role with adult women who suffer from acne. It is important to provide proper skincare and bring balance to the skin. IMAGE Skincare has a new product developed specifically for acne, the Clear Cell Restoring Serum. This serum brings balance to the skin, so the acne skin that is often dehydrated, no longer produces tallow. This anti-aging serum hydrates the skin for 48 hours and refines the pore structure.
5. What is the best way to eliminate darkness under the eyes?
To reduce dark circles under the eyes, it is important to live healthy, eat good nutrition and sleep enough. Last year, IMAGE Skincare launched an eye cream that illuminates the skin under the eyes, while the pigment decreases. This product also lifts, firms and hydrates the skin under the eyes.
6. What is the best way to minimize pores?
To refine the skin structure and minimize pores, I recommend a daily skincare at home with acids and retinols, in combination with peeling treatments. This will generate the best effect for the long term.
7. How often should we exfoliate our skin? And what is the best way to do it?
This depends on the skin. If you exfoliate the skin as IMAGE Skincare does, it creates cell renewal which improves the quality of the skin. Exfoliation is also important to ensure that the skin is not closed, because you don’t want to keep dead skin cells by tallow on the skin. The products that you use after exfoliation, will efficiently absorb into the clean skin. IMAGE Skincare exfoliates the skin every day with the cleanser products, but it also nourishes and protects and that is a must! Personally, I don’t think it is good to exfoliate the whole year at high intensity so don’t use products which are too strong.
8. What are the best preventative measures for aging skin?
The sun is a determining factor in the degree of skin aging. The best remedy is to start as early as possible with sun protection, you will benefit at a later age. Also, it’s important not to smoke and have a healthy lifestyle. When you use a proper “diet” for the skin with products, we can quite successfully slow down the aging of the skin as long as possible.
9. How do we select the right moisturizer for our skin type?
Take a good look at your skin. Is it oily? Dry? Does it need moisture? Or is it very sensitive? Depending on your skin type, you select a product. If you have an oily and blemished skin make sure to get an oil-free moisturizer. If your skin is sensitive and dehydrated you should go for a richer moisturizer.
10. How often should we switch up our skincare routine?
The skin changes and ‘behaves’ differently each season. When it is cold outside, we put the heater on. Hydration is very important in that case. In the summer, protection and restoring is very important. If you look at skin improvement at IMAGE Skincare, we adapt the skincare to what is needed at that time, so that’s why our methods are very specific and tailor-made.
11. What is the best way to treat a blemish?
A blemish is caused by a bacteria on the skin. Blemishes or inflammation can be caused by tallow build up or blockages. It is important to keep the skin thin with a good exfoliant, so that the dead skin cells with tallow can be removed. In addition, nourish and protect the skin with antioxidants for a better defence. If there is an inflammation, I would advise to use the Clear Cell Clarifying Lotion or Clarifying Clear Cell Masque from IMAGE Skincare. It contains anti-inflammatory ingredients that attacks the first signs of a blemish.
12. What is the best way to remove make-up?
The best way to remove make-up is with a lot of water. I wouldn’t advice cotton pads.
